Our Story – From Craftsmanship to Winter Service Expertise
1983 - The Foundation of Quality 🏭
- Founded ORION Winterdienst Produktions GmbH.
- Built a reputation for precision and high-quality metalworking.
1989 - Change 🏢
- Wilfried Voigt becomes CEO and sole shareholder.
- Under his leadership, the company strengthened its operations and established a central facility and warehouse in Berlin-Wedding, laying the foundation for future growth.
1990 - Hit the market ⚙️
- ORION’s patented mechanical blade relief system quickly became a market success. Tested for the GS safety mark and TÜV-approved, it turned into a bestseller. This innovative system also set the stage as a forerunner for today’s modern factory-installed hydraulic plough relief solutions.
1993 - Award 🏆
- ORION received the prestigious Berlin Environmental Award for developing the first combination snowplough blade (steel–rubber–steel) that can be separated into its individual materials after wear. This innovation set new standards for sustainability in winter service equipment.
1995 - Relocation of Operations 📦
- To streamline order processing, administration, and sales, ORION successfully relocated its operations to Niedersachsen. This move strengthened our logistics and customer service capabilities, enabling faster deliveries and more efficient support nationwide.
1997 - New innovation Launch 🛠️
- ORION produced its first manganese cast snowplough blades, introducing a new product line that would become a major success in the years to come. This innovation reinforced our reputation for durable, high-performance winter service equipment.
2001 - Advancing Digitalization 💻
- ORION embraced a higher level of digitalization in administration and order management, creating efficient and optimized workflows across the company. This modernization also enhanced communication with our customers, ensuring faster, more transparent, and reliable service.
2003 - Relocation of Production and Warehouse 📦
- ORION moved its production facilities and central warehouse to Oranienburg, enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening logistics. This relocation enables faster deliveries and supports the company’s continued growth and commitment to high-quality winter service products.
2004 - Field Service Activities 📊
- ORION intensified its field service efforts by hosting workshops and participating in trade fairs. These activities strengthened customer relationships, showcased our innovations, and reinforced our presence in the winter service market.
2019 - Company Merger and Establishment 🤝
- HENTZSCH Metallbearbeitung and ORION Winterdienst merged, officially establishing ORION as a brand of HENTZSCH GmbH. Leadership was assigned to Karina Unganz, with Sven Krause as Business Owner. Production, warehouse, administration, and sales operations were relocated to Falkensee, creating a modern, centralized hub for efficiency and customer service excellence.
